Wisdom of the Ages: Much More than a Mere Gift Shop

Wisdom of the Ages isn't simply a gift shop or a book store. It's a place where you can find photos, poetry, and prints (to name just a few of the many items) that will feed your spirit. That's exactly what founder Jane Siegel wanted it to be when she opened Wisdom of the Ages in 1997.

Having grown up in a home where spirituality was encouraged, Siegel wanted to create a safe haven for similar spiritual expression in Simsbury. She and son Charlie operate Wisdom of the Ages with that though in mind, offering private sessions for people who need counseling, chakra-clearing, or anything else customers might be seeking. The store also hosts psychic readings, conducted by Charlie and other seasoned psychics. If you want to learn how to meditate or otherwise fuel your soul, attend one of the classes regularly held at Wisdom of the Ages for a glimpse inside of yourself.

Rosedale Farm and Vineyards has been in business for nearly a century in Simsbury. Its founding family first started tilling the land back in 1920, to be exact. In the intervening years, Rosedale's farmers have perfected their craft, even foraying into raising grapes. Today, the local farm and vineyard invites guests to takes the spoils of the cultivators' hard work in myriad ways.

You can always pick up fresh produce straight from the field at Rosedale Farm, but you're also welcome to attend the regular Chef-to-Farm Dinners or Farm Fests if you want someone else to do the cooking for you. Rosedale also hosts seasonal events, constructing a corn maze in the fall. If you're more interested in the wine than the food, come by on a Saturday or Sunday between noon and 5 p.m. for a tasting. Or just stop in to grab a bouquet of fresh flowers.
